Fire Department Fire Safety House

The Office of Prevention, Investigation, and Training is committed to an aggressive fire inspection program to ensure residential and workplace safety. Its mission is to be proactive by providing professional training to firefighters and paramedics, as well as life-saving fire safety education to the public.

Training programs have been developed for target groups to provide fire safety education suitable for the public’s specific needs. The Wilkes-Barre City Fire Department operates a Fire Safety House that is a fun, hands-on learning tool to teach people of all ages what to do in the event of a fire.

The Fire Safety House, among other fire safety programs, is available upon request for civic and social organizations, school children, and high-risk groups such as senior citizens and residents of high-rise apartment buildings. If you are interested in scheduling any of the above programs, please contact Wilkes-Barre Fire Headquarters at (570) 208-4261.
