Penn's Northeast
Penn's Northeast is Northeastern Pennsylvania's regional economic development agency, dedicated to attracting quality employers to Northeastern Pennsylvania. Penn's Northeast was created through a joint effort of private business leaders, local utility companies, governments, economic development organizations, and chambers of commerce to market the collective assets of Northeastern Pennsylvania's region and to facilitate the creation and retention of quality jobs. Penn's Northeast accomplishes this by providing site selection and incentive financing assistance to businesses, real estate brokers, developers and site selection consultants.

GWBCC
The Chamber's mission is to unite and support those community-conscious business organizations and individuals in Luzerne County and to seek to enhance the business climate, business success, quality of life and general welfare in Northeastern Pennsylvania.​

The Chamber's vision is to be the preeminent organization connecting our community and improving the quality of life in Greater Wilkes-Barre from the perspective of our businesses, community organizations, and academic capital.​

DCP
The Diamond City Partnership (DCP) is Wilkes-Barre’s alliance for downtown revitalization, serving as the caretaker of our community’s vision for Downtown Wilkes-Barre. Founded in 2001, DCP is a not-for-profit downtown management organization whose work plan is intended to improve the economic vitality and livability of Downtown Wilkes-Barre.

DCP also administers the Downtown Wilkes-Barre Business Improvement District (DWBBID), which provides a range of place management services to the properties and businesses of Downtown Wilkes-Barre. Since its founding, DCP has realized many accomplishments and goals.


Small Business Development

WB Connect

The Wilkes-Barre Connect team aligns  businesses with appropriate providers, services, and locations to meet the goals and objectives defined within their strategy. Acting as a catalyst for business development in Northeastern Pennsylvania, Connect formulates strategic partnerships with the academic and business community to spur business and job creation, retention. Administered by the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber, Connect is run through a committee comprised of strategic partners.

SBDC Wilkes University

The Small Business Development Center at Wilkes Unviersity provides no-cost, confidential business consulting, training and education supported by strategic relationships and specialized programs through a team of experienced professional consultants dedicated and motivated to strengthen, enhance, and empower the small business community.

SBA

Since its founding on July 30, 1953, the U.S. Small Business Administration has delivered millions of loans, loan guarantees, contracts, counseling sessions and other forms of assistance to small businesses. 

SBA provides assistances primarily through its four programmatic functions: Access to Capital, Entrepreneurial Development, Government Contracting, and Advocacy.
