Mayor George will open the 2018 season of the Wilkes-Barre Farmers Market Thursday, June 28th at 10:00 AM.

John Shemo from Geisinger Health Plan will perform the National Anthem during the Opening Day Ceremonies and Mother Nature’s Sons will perform.


Gesinger Health Plan will sponsor “Music at the Market”.

The Farmers Market will continue each Thursday until November 15th from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Each week CEO will have live cooking demonstrations and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins’ Tux will visit on June 28th, July 12th, July 26th, August 9th, and August 23rd.

Special Farmers Market Events include:

  • July 26th Children’s Day: Child Safety Information from Wilkes-Barre City's Police, Fire, and Health Departments, 2018-2019 Cherry Blossom Festival Princess Lily Davis, Hillside Farms Animals, Dunkin' Donuts' "Cuppy", Story time and activities with the Osterhout Library and The Luzerne County Reading Council
  • August 2nd Latin Day: Latin Music
  • August 9th Veterans Celebration Day: Recognize and celebrate our Veterans sponsored by Citymark Federal Credit Union; David Blight School of Dance 11:00-11:30 AM; 2018-2019 Cherry Blossom Festival Queen Kennedy Wood and Princess Lily Davis
  • September 27th Luzerne County Active Aging Day: Information from the Wilkes-Barre City Health Department & Area Agency on Aging.
