Wilkes-Barre City Changes Collection Schedule and Leaf Drop Off and Street Leaf Removal Due to the Impending Snowstorm

Due to the impending snowstorm, the City of Wilkes-Barre will suspend curbside recycling pickup on Wednesday, December 16th for residents in the Mayflower, Rolling Mill Hill, Iron Triangle, and Goose Island neighborhoods. Recycling pickup for these neighborhoods is rescheduled to Monday, December 21st. Recycling will also be suspended on Thursday, December 17th for residents in South Wilkes-Barre 2, who will have their recycling pick up rescheduled to Tuesday, December 22nd.

Garbage collection will continue as scheduled, but delays are possible due the unpredictability of the snowstorm.

The city will also suspend both yard waste drop-off at the DPW headquarters as well as leaf vacuum truck leaf collection for the remainder of this week.

Christmas Collection:

Residents are reminded that City Hall will be closed and there will be no DPW services on Christmas Day, which is Friday, December 25th . Residents in the East End, Parsons, and Miners Mills will have their garbage and recycling picked up on Monday, December 28th
