COMMUNITY PARTNER EVENT

The Riverfront Parks Committee Presents “Eagles on the Susquehanna” a special presentation with LIVE Eagles on Thursday, June 14th 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM!

Join the Riverfront Parks Committee and special guest, Franklin Klock from the Carbon County Environmental Education Center as we learn about Eagles.

Bring the family to this hour long program and meet “Rennie” a bald eagle that was injured by a car in 2001 and is now a resident at the education center. Next you will meet “Miss Charles” a golden eagle that suffered a gunshot wound in 2001. Neither bird can be returned to the wild, so under permit of the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the Pennsylvania Game Commission, they serve as part of the raptor education program.

Live eagles make for impressive animal ambassadors, and help us talk about the importance of apex predators in an ecosystem. They also help us understand the kinds of hazards these bird face in the wild.

This event is free and open to the public!
