Wilkes-Barre Establishes Cemetery Beautification Fund for City Cemetery

The City has established the Wilkes-Barre Cemetery Beautification Fund to raise funding for the beautification, upkeep and repair of the Wilkes-Barre City Cemetery. This fund led by the City of Wilkes-Barre and Mayor George C. Brown, and Wilkes-Barre City Cemetery Restoration Committee, in collaboration with The Luzerne Foundation.

In May, Mayor George C. Brown announced the formation of the Wilkes-Barre City Cemetery Restoration Committee. The team of volunteers will work with the city to clean and restore the Wilkes-Barre City Cemetery, located on North River Street. The committee members will also explore available grants to make improvements to the cemetery and organize guided tours in the future.  Committee members Bill Lewis, Joan Cavanaugh, Don Crane, Lou Zuzelski, and Greg Griffin.
