Wilkes-Barre City Reminds Property Owners of Property Tax Payment Schedule

Mayor George C. Brown reminds city property owners of the following adjustments which were made to the 2020 Wilkes-Barre City property tax payment schedule:

1. The last day to pay the full-face amount of the city property taxes for 2020 is June 4, 2020.  It was extended in March from the original deadline of May 4, 2020.

2. The last days for payments to be made by installment for city property taxes for 2020 are extended as follows:

  • 3rd installment due June 4, 2020 (extended from May 4, 2020)
  • 4th installment due July 3, 2020 (extended from June 3, 2020)

City Hall remains closed to the public and the payment drop box outside City Hall is inaccessible due to the scaffolding required for the roof repairs. The tax office still has access to the mail. Therefore, taxpayers should mail their tax payment and installment payment coupons to Wilkes-Barre City Tax Office, 40 East Market Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711. Checks or money orders are made payable to the City of Wilkes-Barre. Taxpayers requesting a receipt should include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Postmark date will be accepted as the payment date.
