Jude Spellman named 2018 ALS Practitioner of the Year

City of Wilkes-Barre Fire Department EMS Paramedic Jude Spellman recently received the 2018 ALS Practitioner of the Year Award. 

Each year, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services, with the assistance of the Pennsylvania Emergency Health Services Council, recognizes individuals, groups, and organizations that have made a significant contribution to Pennsylvania’s Emergency Medical Service System. Pennsylvania has 8,313 paramedics and a total of 45,960 Pre-Hospital Care Providers. 

Mayor Tony George applauds Paramedic Jude Spellman on achieving this prestigious award.  Fire Chief Jay Delaney notes that Spellman is one of the best paramedics in the EMS system.  Delaney has worked with Spellman for over 38 years.  “Jude has an amazing amount of care and compassion for every patient he treats and has paramedic skills that are impeccable” said Delaney.

Paramedic Jude Spellman has been employed by the City of Wilkes-Barre as a Paramedic since January 2, 1975.
