2020 Farmers’ Market Opens on Public Square June 25th

Wilkes-Barre, PA June 24, 2020

Mayor George C. Brown reminds residents and visitors that the 2020 Wilkes-Barre Farmers’ Market will open tomorrow, Thursday June 25th on Public Square in Downtown Wilkes-Barre.

Mayor Brown will open the market at 10 AM. He will be joined by Miss Luzerne County Victoria Vespico who will be singing the National Anthem beginning at 9:45 AM.

The Farmers' Market continues every Thursday from 10 AM to 4 PM through November 19th.

The Farmers' Market will be subject to CDC and Pennsylvania Department of Health COVID-19 regulations and recommendations.

Farmers’ Market vendors will be required to wear face masks. As the market is outdoors, masks are recommended, but if social distancing is not possible, a mask is required. Social distancing and wearing a face mask is the best form of protection against the spread of coronavirus/COVID-19.

The Farmers Market will be a produce only market and there will be no food or craft vendors. The City will reassess types of vendors as the summer progresses.
