Mayor George C. Brown welcomes residents and visitors to the City of Wilkes-Barre’s Annual Cherry Blossom Festival, presented by Xfinity, on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 11 AM to 7 PM each day in Kirby Park, on Market Street.
The event will include over 50 food and retail vendors, amusement rides and games, and live entertainment. The event is rain or shine.
Saturday, April 27th
- Northeast Region Special Olympics Pennsylvania’s Cherry Blossom 5K will kick off the day. Registration is from 8:30-10:00 AM. The Fun Run starts at 10 AM. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/SOPAnortheast.
- Live entertainment at the Martz Pavilion will begin with a 10 AM celebration of World Tai Chi Day.
- The band Toasted will perform from 1:00PM to 3:30 PM
- Bus 5 will perform from 4:30PM to 7:00 PM.
Sunday, April 28th
- Local dance companies will perform in Pirouettes in the Park from 12 -1 PM.
- Eric Rudy will perform a solo acoustic set from 2:00 PM-4:00PM.
- Portland Frank will close out the Festival from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM
Festival attendees are reminded that Alcoholic Beverages are NOT Permitted in the city parks and pets are not allowed during City Sponsored Events.
Huey’s Amusements will have family-friendly rides in the Kirby Park parking lot. Pricing is as follows:
Friday, April 26th from 5:00 to 9:00 PM: preview night wristband is $18 all day
Saturday, April 27th: Amusement ride tickets are $1.50 each, $15 for 12 tickets, and $25 for 24 tickets.
Sunday, April 28th: $25 all-day wristband available
